In 2007, Father Gallitzin was named Servant of God, the title given to a sainthood candidate at the beginning of the four steps toward canonization. The second step, Venerable, would signify his life as one of heroic virtue. The last two steps – Beautification and Canonization – each need a miracle through his intercession.
